At Oldmixon Primary School, we have a new position open for an office administrator to join a friendly administrative team, providing an efficient point of contact within our reception.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive administrator to provide comprehensive support across our general school administration functions. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our school office.

Hours: 40 hours per week, term-time 8:00am-4:30pm

Actual Salary: E4 - £25,785.52

Closing date: 15 May 2026 by midday

Interview date: 19 May 2026

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the reception facility, answering calls and dealing with face-to-face enquiries, signing in visitors and ensuring all visitors are appropriately monitored, as well as providing general clerical and administrative support and maintaining school records.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as a first point of contact for parents, pupils, and visitors, providing a professional and welcoming reception service.
  • Maintain accurate records on school IT systems and single central record (SRC).
  • Support with pupil admissions and statutory census returns.
  • Assist with school communications, newsletters, events, and website updates.
  • Contribute to resource planning and procurement processes.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous administrative experience in a confidential environment; experience in a school setting desirable.
  • Excellent typing and IT skills (Microsoft Office proficiency).
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive approach, professionalism, and empathy with the ethos and aims of our school and trust.
